ISPs
will typically use wireless tags with an embedded antenna. The wireless tags
could be active or passive.
This search method is relatively quick when compared to the speed of a conventional forensic search. Wireless detectors are relatively inexpensive and are dropping in price as wireless technology like RFID gains acceptance.
Little training is required to operate the detector.
Lightly trained police and volunteers could sweep through likely crime scenes
searching for wireless ISP evidence. This
greatly increases the police's ability to have more places searched and to have
them searched quickly.
